These are some of the themes explored in this collection of short stories by one of the most promising women writers from northern Nigeria.

THE AUTHOR: Fatima Usara Hassan-Tom was born in 1969 in Zuru, Kebbi State, Nigeria. She was educated at the Government Girls’ Secondary School, Kotorkoshi, Zamfara State, and at the University of Maiduguri from where she graduated with a B.A. degree in English Literature in 1990. She is a former deputy editor of the fortnightly Hausa magazine, Rana, and later editor of the weekly newsmagazine, Hotline. A mother of two, she is the Administrative Officer of the FOMWAN Hospital in Kaduna.
